Maui Part 3

Wow! We have had such a busy summer! I figured it was about time to finish blogging about my Maui trip! On our snorkel cruise to the Molokini crater we saw so many beautiful fish, an octopus, and a few green sea turtles!

The turtles were so amazing! They were almost as big as me! It was truly the experience of a lifetime swimming next to these rare creatures!

This is me touching the octopus!

The next morning we got up bright and early and drove the road to Hana. The road is very narrow with hairpin turns and amazing views around every corner! Not a good drive for someone who gets car sick! I only saw two waterfalls before i got a huge migraine and got sick! I slept for an hour in the car and missed the whole thing! Alex said it was his favorite part of the trip even though he didn't get to get out and hike to any other waterfalls because I was passed out in the passenger seat!

This was my favorite waterfall! We had to hike on these huge slippery river rocks for a mile before we reached the waterfall! It was an adventure I will never forget!

I woke up in time to see the Seven Sacred Pools!

Later that afternoon, after we got back to our hotel, we saw this beautiful rainbow!

The last day we were there we had to burn time till our flight left that night. We checked out of our hotel and pretty much just wandered around looking for things to do! We stopped at a restraunt named Lulu's and had breakfast. I got pancakes that had caramelized bananas and pineapple chunks topped with kula cream! They were the most delicious pancakes i have ever had! I can't believe i didn't take a picture! They were huge though and i could only eat half of mine! We went mini golfing, walked around a few shopping centers, saw the movie Date Night, and then we went to the airport and had dinner, then we played cards until we boarded our plane!
This trip was the most amazing experience! It means so much to me that i got to spend it with my awesome husband! We had so much fun I can't wait till we go back!

Maui Part 2

On Saturday we went to a swap meet at the college. There were a ton of vendors! They sold everything from fresh flowers and fruit to jewelry and wind chimes! We found a lot of great deals on souvenirs! After that we went beach hopping on South Maui! We snorkeled at a few of them and just sat on the beach and enjoyed the sunshine at others!

Wailea Beach was our favorite beach!

Alex was off to snorkel the second we got there!

On Sunday we went and walked around the Whaler's Village! It was a huge shopping center! We got some really good ice cream sundaes at Hagan Daas! Mine was called the Islander! It had coconut, pineapple ice cream, macadamia nuts, fudge and short bread cookies! It was so good that we went back a few days later to get more!

That night we went to the Royal Lahina Luau!

They smoked this Kalua pig in an underground oven called an Imu! It was delicious!

It was awesome to watch all of their traditional dances but the fire dancer was our favorite by far!

The next morning we went on a snorkel cruise to Molikini! I don't have our CD of pictures with me so i will have to write a post on that later!

Maui Part 1

I can't believe that it has been over a month since Al and I got back from our trip! I also can;t believe that it has taken so long to find time to blog about it! Maui was so beautiful i hope that we get to go back some day! The first few days we were there the weather was actually not what you would picture when you think of Hawaii! So we spent the first few days sight seeing!

We stayed at the Mahana in Kaanapali!

Kaanapali Beach

Maui Ocean Center

It was so awesome! we got to see so many bright and colorful fish!

After the Ocean Center we went snorkeling in Honalua Bay.
It was the first time either of us has ever snorkeled so it was a good learning experience!

We had to take a short hike down to the water. It felt like we were in a jungle!
The trees were huge!

The next day we went to Iao State Park. We had planned to spend the whole day there but it only took half an hour to see the whole thing! The pointy mountain is called the Iao Needle.

We bought a pineapple and a strawberry papaya at this cute fruit stand that was off the side of the road. The lady cut them up for us and we ate them on our drive! It was the best pineapple I've ever had!

Since we had more time we drove around the North West corner of the island. We stopped at these really cool tide pools! There were fish and even little hermit crabs in them!

After the tide pools we stopped at this blow hole!

Well that's all for now! Check later for more!

I am still alive!

I just wanted to let you all know that I didn't decide to just stay and live in Hawaii forever, even though i wouldn't have minded too much! We had an awesome trip but it felt good to get home to our girls! Life has seemed super busy since we got back, which would explain why i haven't blogged since Easter! I still don't have time right now! Hopefully soon i will find enough time to update you on the vacations, birthdays and even the new baby in my life!

Easter Weekend

We had a great Easter weekend! We were able to spend alot of time with family! On Saturday we spent the afternoon with the King's! We had an easter egg hunt for all the kids and then we had an amazing Easter dinner! Jordan (Alex's dad) went to preisthood meeting by himself. Alex has a few inactive brothers and the ones that do go to church had decided to stay and visit with the family! But 15 min after the meeting started they were all feeling guilty that he was sitting there by himself. So all 5 of the boys (including the inactive ones) went to the meeting to sit by him! The only open seats were on the very front row so they sat there. Jordan saw them walk in and went to sit with them! He said that he balled like a baby through the whole rest of the talk! It was the first time ever that they had all been to preisthood meeting together!

On Sunday we went to my mom's house. We watched conference and Mom and Jenny helped finish the announcements for Jenny's baby shower that is tomorrow! In between sessions we had ham and potato casserole for lunch and took some family pictures! We did a little Easter egg hunt for the girls too! It was really nice to get to see everyone and catch up!

All weekend we had been telling Kymber that we could dye eggs and we had to keep putting it off because we were too busy! But when we got home from Idaho Falls on Sunday night we finally got a chance to do it! She had alot of fun picking which colors to make them and putting stickers on when they were all dry! Happy late Easter everyone!
Sorry I couldn't get it to load my pictures! I'll try it again later!

He is proably the funniest person i have ever met! He always knows how to make anyone feel better if they are having a bad day! Probably one of my favorite things about Alex is that he dreams BIG!

Trees, "Workouts," and RSV

Wow! I can't beleive it has been so long since I posted anything! We haven't really done anything too interesting! The weather is finally starting to get nice so we have gone out and tried to clean up our yard a few times. Alex had a day off and got to work on cutting down our trees! When we bought this house there were 6 HUGE old trees in front and 3 big ones down the side of the house. They are ugly and rotten so we have been trying to cut them down pretty much since we moved in! We are hoping that we can get them all down this year so that we can level the yard and plant grass! It be so awesome to have a nice yard for the girls to play in!
I hate it when Alex cuts down trees!

Kymber has been helping me exercise lately! Some days she is the only reason i do work out! On this particular day she had to have work out clothes, work out shoes and work out hair just like mom! She does crunches, push ups and even lifts some weights (she calls the weights workouts! It's pretty cute)! After about 5 minutes she is all done! The whole time I'm working out she claps for me and says "good job!" or "go, go, go!" It actually really helps me get through it!

I wish I looked this cute when I worked out!

We have all been really sick for forever it feels like! After about 4 visits to the docter and 3 to the drug store, we all ended up with pink eye (yuck!) both of my girls had ear infections, I had a sinus infection, and Sydni had RSV! Seriously!? I don't know how that is even possible! Poor Syd was so sick! For her RSV we had to do this vapor breathing treatment every 4 hours and I was actually suprised how well she did with it! Kymber thought it was pretty funny! She would say "She smokin!" Then she would walk away laughing! We are all starting to feel better, besides Alex who just came down with a bad cough, but hopefully we all be better soon!

One of My Favorite Things

So my "Blue Sticker Day" turned into more of a "Blue Sticker Weekend!" I ended up spending the night at my mom's house with the girls and Alex went home so he could go to work! So Saturday morning mom and I went to JoAnn fabrics and got stuff to make the girls' Easter dresses! Then Jen and I went to see Dear John later that afternoon! After that I went back to her house to help her set up a baby cradle. When I got back to my mom's house I realized that my purse was no where to be found! Kristine and I searched the house a million times and called Jen to see if I had left it in her car or at her house. Nothing! So I went home hoping it would turn up. At 10:40 that night the Butte County Sheriff came and knocked on my door! Someone had turned my wallet in to the Idaho Falls Police Department! SoI got to drive back to town AGAIN to pick it up! I guessI left it on top of Jenny's car when we went over to her house! Genious right?!

Any way likeI said I picked out fabric for the girls' dresses on Friday and I actually got them all cut out yesterday! So I got my sewing machine out today so I could start working on them. My sewing machine is very special to me, it is one of my favorite things I own! When Kymber was maybe a month old the UPS man dropped a package off at my house. I was confused because I hadn't ordered anything, but sure enough it was addressed to me! I opened it and inside was white and blue sewing machine! Now I was really confused! I called my mom to see if she had bought it for me and she said that she hadn't. In the bottom of the box I found an invoice with my grandpa's name on it. Turns out that he thought that since I had a little girl that I needed a sewing machine so I could make her dresses! It really touches me that he thought of me. I have made a total of 4 (soon to be 6) little dresses and 5 halloween costumes on my sewing machine! So thank you so much grandpa! It is probably the best gift I have ever recieved and I will cherish it forever!

Blue Sticker Day!

Living in a small town has it's advantages an disadvantages. I love how queit and laid back it feels, and i love that i can look out my back window and see the mountains. One of the major downsides of living in a small town is the lack of a decent priced grocery store and any other store for that matter! So we often end up driving to "town" (Idaho Falls) every week or so to pick up groceries and other essentials. This Friday is Blue Sticker Day! Alex has a dentist appointment so there is a blue sticker on Friday that has tooth brushes and the appointment information. Alex bribed Kymber into eating her dinner the other night by telling her that he would take her to the pet store if she ate all her "nu-num!" Well it worked so we have been counting down the days to the blue sticker on the calender! One thing i hate about only having one day to return to civilization is the fact that all those little errands that should take place through out the week all need to be packed into one day! It is exahausting! This Friday Alex has his appointment, Jenny and I are going to see Dear John (yea!), we need to do some bank stuff, we have to squeeze in a trip to the pet store, we are celebrating Kristine's 15th birthday with dinner, cake and presents at mom's (that girl is growing up too fast!), then we need to go grocery shopping! Whew! I really wanted to go pick out fabric for the girls Easter dresses too, but i don't see that happening on this trip! Maybe I can make a special trip for that this next week! I am pretty excited for Blue Sticker day though, even though it is shaping up to be a long hectic day (except fo the movie!) it is always nice to get to town and see my family and have a break from the normal day to day things at home!

A Much Needed Break!

So Alex has had to work ALOT lately which isn't fun for any of us but this weekend was especially hard! He worked all day on both Saturday and Sunday! I hate when he gets forced to work Sunday! My girls are still sick so i didn't go to church either, but the next thing i knew i was all showered and dressed and the girls and i were in the car headed for Idaho Falls and Grandma Wendy's house! I couldn't stand being home alone anymore so we spent the day at Mom's house! It felt so nice to get out and be around other gorwn ups! Mostly we just sat and relaxed or played with the girls but mom and I decided to do a little project later that evening! We made a few of these super cute flowers! Kristine and my mom are going to show the rest of the girls in her young women's group how to make them for mutual on Tuesday, so we made a few samples! They were so fun and easy to make! You can glue them on a clip to make a cute hair flower for little girls or you could glue it to pin to put on a bag or something! It felt good to take some time and be creative! Later that night Jenny and Trever came over and we played Wii for a while and visited! Jen is such a cute little pregnant lady! I can't wait to see her sweet baby boy! I feel much better after having a short trip! Thanks for the fun Mom!

While i was at Mom's house my grandma called and i answered the phone so I got to talk to her for a while! She said something about Alex and I going to Maui and I realized that I hadn't posted that we booked our trip! We are going April 14 through the 21! We had to move it up because there were no rooms available at any hotels in May! I'm so excited I can hardly wait! I

Cabin Fever

I am pretty sure that i am about to go crazy, if i'm not already! The girls and I have been sick since Saturday night and i havn't left the house since! We all have a yucky crackly cough, stuffy runny noses (i can not tell you how sick i am of wiping boogers!), and all my muscles and joints are acky and so i'm guessing that the girls feel the same! I have seen enough Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and "Pat Pat Show" (The Little Einstiens) to last forever! I can't wait till we all feel better and all the snow is gone so that we can finally get outside! At least i have something to look forward to! In May Alex and I are hopefully going to be able to go to Maui all by ourselves for our 4th anniversary! We haven't had much time to ourselves since Kymber was born! I can't wait to go and spend sometime alone with my best friend and just relax!

Big Girl and "Valentimes" Day!

So Kymber is going to be 3 at the end of April! I can't believe how fast that girl has grown up! She is doing amazing with her potty training! The only time that we have problems is when i try and put a pull up on her for bed! She doesn't want to take off her princess panties to put the pull up on! I finally decided that it wasn't worth it to fight with her over it so i just wait till she falls asleep and then i change her!

One of Alex's best friends has a little girl named Kaitlyn that is Kymber's age! Kaitlyn gave Kymber a Tinker Bell valentine and stickers! Kymber wanted to give Kaitlyn a "Valentime" too! So i helped her make some! We used my awesome Cricut that i got for Christmas (thanks again Al!) they were so easy to make and i think they turned out pretty cute! Kymber picked out the papers and helped me glue a few together before she got bored and went to play! She helped stick the suckers in and they were done!

She loved handing out her "Valentimes" to her friends and all of her cousins! I had so much helping her make them! She is such a sweet little girl and we are so lucky to have her in our family!

It's About Time!

So i finally started a blog! My mom is going to be so proud of me! I will try to keep up on it but i'm not a very good blogger!
